Shootings Since the 2013 Boston Marathon

We have been working closely with Blackstonian.com to keep track of all shootings (fatal and non-fatal) that have occured in Boston since the 2013 Boston Marathon. With all the media attention and the outpouring of support for victims of the Boston Marathon Bombings, we wanted to highlight the daily tragedies that are consistently ignored and whose victims receive nothing compared to the millions and millions raised in a matter of weeks for the One Fund. It started with a simple Graphic depicting the number of shootings in the style of a runners number. We have since developed an interactive Google map indicating where each shooting takes place, showing how they are primarily concentrated in the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan and the South End / Lower Roxbury. For the most recent count (as of this posting it stands at 85) and map check blackstonian.com.

Herald Covers Disparity in Response to Shootings Since boston Marathon

We have been working with the Blackstonain to keep track of and map all of the shootings (fatal and non-fatal) in Boston that have occurred since the 2013 Boston Marathon on April 15. In an article entitled “Eagan: Deaths show sad double standard” Margery Eagan points out the lack of popular and media support in the less high profile violence that persists in Boston. There’s been 70 little-noticed shootings in Boston since the marathon, report police and Blackstonian, community activist Jamarhl Crawford’s website. He’s reported daily on the disparate treatment of the two tragedies. – See more at: bostonherald.com Read the full Boston Herald article See the coverage of shootings on Blackstonian.com

Wise Intelligent .com

This project was a real honor for us. Wise Intelligent of the Legendary Hip-Hop group, Poor Righteous Teachers had us redo his website in preparation for the release of his latest album ‘El Negro Guerrero‘. We worked on rebuilding his site as a self hosted wordpress site with a sliders, a shop, blog, and archives of music and videos. One of the goals with this redesign was to make the site more mobile friendly as it previously was purely flash site. wiseintelligent.com
